Activities



The Brazilian distance education community participated in developing the program for the 29th CIAED—ABED International Distance Education Congress.

 

Educators, researchers, managers, and professionals will be able to submit activities such as Podcasts, Roundtables, EAD talks, Meetings, Book Launches, Lectures (in parallel sessions), and Minicourses/Workshops.

 

Podcast

Podcasts are roundtables held in rooms with microphones and cameras. They will be broadcast live on ABED's YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram and recorded for those interested who wish to watch them later.

Roundtable

Roundtables involve debates between experts on a specific topic. They must be led by a coordinator, who introduces the experts, introduces the subject, and mediates the questions. The public must have the right to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

EAD-Talks

EAD Talks is a space at CIAED where educators, researchers, managers, students, and professionals with something interesting to talk about can present original ideas capable of changing distance education. Lectures for EAD Talks must be at most 15 minutes in length.

Meeting

Expert meetings must discuss current problems with the objective of proposing solutions. The meetings can be closed activities, closed to the public, or involve writing a document with proposals for the area. The proponent should suggest the number of hours.

Book Launch

Book signing sessions will occur in a prominent area at EXPO-EAD during the interval between the parallel sessions of the Congress. There will be tables and chairs available for authors in the space, and the possibility of displaying one banner per book launch.

Lecture (in parallel sessions)

The total time stipulated for each presentation is 25 minutes (including questions from the audience), and the lectures will be held in parallel sessions in the 29th CIAED program.

Minicourse/Workshop

Minicourses and workshops are theoretical, practical, or theoretical-practical activities with a workload suggested by the proponent. In 2024, they will not be "extra-congress" activities. That is, they will be held during the event. Up to 2 professors will be allowed per activity.
