Salvador was the first capital of Brazil. It is one of the most popular touristic destinies for foreigners and Brazilians. It receives thousands of tourists all year round.


Salvador has unique features, its architecture, street fashion, culture and customs which are still preserved. This all relates to the initial colonization of Salvador, where most were slaves. The population of Salvador is 81.8% of blacks, descendants of slaves in colonial Brazil, who are eager to preserve customs and have some pride in remembering their roots. The most famous landmark is the Salvador Historical Center or Pelourinho as it is better known. It was listed by UNESCO in 1985 as a historical inheritance. With its narrow streets, the Pelourinho is full of bars, typical restaurants and inns to accommodate everyone that arrives. It is the scene of all the arts that everyone should visit.

There are also other neighborhoods to be visited such as: Barra, Pituba, Red River, Flamengo and Mercado Modelo which is located in low downtown as the Lacerda Elevator. Salvador also offers other tourist attractions, and one of them is the famous carnival in Salvador. The famous electric trios bond thousands of people together, including Brazilians and foreigners and only those who will attend this event will know how to explain the awesome sensation that come about in these days of carnival. On the streets persistently, day and night, the electric trios throughout the carnival make the party for those who came in search of it: fun.

Bahians are also known for their cooking spices. The Eccentric and spicy flavors that are the result of the mixture of customs and races like black, Indian and Portuguese -People full of beliefs, of different faiths, joyful and hospitable that are waiting for you  in Salvador. In Bahia everything is lighter and more beautiful.
